The Ascent™ Aluminium Walkway was selected by Eurosafe Solutions to establish safe access to the expansive aircraft hangars at RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire. Located to the North of Leeds, RAF Leeming serves as a critical hub for UK and overseas expeditionary air operations, housing numerous air squadrons.

The aircraft hangars visible from the A1 are sizable structures that require regular planned periodic maintenance (PPM) on their rooftops. Eurosafe Solutions was tasked with formulating a comprehensive safe access strategy for these roofs.

As part of this strategy, Eurosafe proposed the installation of the Ascent™ Aluminium Walkway equipped with guardrails. This walkway not only provided a level, anti-slip surface for maintenance personnel but also seamlessly adapted to the varying slopes of the roof, ensuring safe traversal. Incorporating steps along its length to accommodate roof slope ascents and descents, the walkway was securely fastened to the roof sheet using proprietary self-drill fixing screws with weather-tight washers. This installation method minimized penetrations into the building and subsequent weatherproofing requirements.

Manufactured in compliance with stringent standards, including EN 516:2006 and BS EN 14122-2 & 3:2016, and utilising environmentally friendly materials, the Ascent™ Aluminium Walkways not only prioritise safety but also sustainability, catering to the needs of both current and future maintenance personnel.
