Q-railing’s Easy Glass Slim system has been installed at Volkswagen’s new centrepiece facility for the development of electromobility. It is the largest new structure at the group’s Wolfsburg headquarters.
As home to an electrical and electronic competence centre, the building brings a new dimension to Volkswagen’s E-campus. The design is long and narrow, making optimum use of the site.
An atrium runs the entire length of Hall 90 B. Its terraced sides rise up to a glass roof, which lets light flood into the office spaces. The building’s spatial arrangement is designed to create exciting visual relationships and efficient connections between functional units. The public areas are inviting and attractive spaces.
Q-railing’s Easy Glass Slim system provided the architects with an affordable designer solution that contributes to the open feel of the interior design. Around 800 metres of glass railing, topped with a high-grade stainless steel cap rail, were installed on the building’s galleries and bridges.
